ADHA: the largest professional organization representing the interests of dental hygienists. Our members enjoy professional support, educational programs, and numerous opportunities for participation in association decision making. With your support, NMDHA volunteers can carry out the mission to advance the art and science of dental hygiene, and to promote the highest standards of education and practice in the profession.
NMDHA: New Mexico Dental Hygienists' Association, a constituent under ADHA.
Constituent: state, commonwealth, federal district, territory or possession of the United States that is a subgroup of the ADHA.
Components: voting members of the same constituent that practice, reside or hold a license within the same geographical territory.
District IX: ADHA is divided into 11 districts. District IX is comprised of New Mexico (NMDHA), Oklahoma (ODHA), and Texas (TDHA) Dental Hygiene Associations.
Director: an elected officer of District IX delegates. This individual is the president of the district and link between ADHA and the constituents.
Delegate: elected by the members of their constituent to attend ADHA annual business meeting (House of Delegates) to represent their state and vote on behalf of the members of that constituent on dental hygiene issues.
Tripartite: consisting of 3 parts.
ADHA is a tripartite organization. Membership in ADHA includes membership in NMDHA and your local component if one exists. New Mexico consists of three components: Central/High Desert, NMDHA Southern/Las Cruces area, and Tres Rios/Northwest area. Members may belong to the constituent and component of their choice based on where they reside, practice or hold a license.
